Below you will find a listing of the different Microorganisms, Bacteria, Viruses, Algae, Protozoa, and Mold Spores that the Elektra UV system kills through its design lamp output at 30,000 µW/sec/cm2 at lamp end-of-life (EOL). The numbers shown in bold behind the name of the microorganism is the minimum UV energy in µW/sec/cm2 at lamp end-of-life (EOL) require to kill each microorganism. As you can see, some of these microorganisms are relatively simple to kill using UV-C radiation, and others are very difficult and require the high radiation level for proper eradication that the Delta UV system provides (many of this bacterium I often too difficult for normal doses of chlorine commonly found in swimming pools to eliminate ). It is important to note the lamp output energy level designed into all Delta UV systems is the required level specified by the US Public Health Agency for Class A drinking water where 99.9% destruction is required.
