Fresh WaterFresh water is naturally occuring water found in ponds, lakes, rivers, underground water, etc. Fresh water is necessary for the survival of ecosystem since the water is used in various human activities including irrigation, industrial applications and moreover habitat for aquatic life. Pollution leading to chemical contamination has direct effect on the whole eco system, thus polluting the environment.
Fresh water is a limited natural resource due to increase in population, climate change and contamination of water through increased ocean volume and human activities. Thus, saving fresh water for out stringent requirements for both private (fish ponds, biological pools) and professional use (aquaculture, pisciculture, aquariums, irrigation, industrial use) is necessary.
Water features can be from a range of fountains, pools, ponds, cascades, waterfalls, and streams. They usually are powered by pumps and are typically self-contained, as water is recycled from either a pond or a hidden reservoir. There is an increasing range of innovative designs using alternate installation methods and technologies, indoor or outdoor and of any size, from a desk top water fountain to a large indoor waterfall that covers an entire wall in a large commercial building, and can be made from any number of materials, including stone, granite, stainless steel, resin, and glass.
